Meet Moran and his partner Amayi, the latest Team Members at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve!

Moran and Amayi, are a pair of 16-week-old lion cubs, they are the latest members of the team at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve. They will be a ‘first’ for Mwabvi, the ‘hidden gem’ amongst Malawi’s National Parks, which is located in southern Malawi where predators have long since vanished.

While the cubs are small, they will be cared for by Kristen Kerr, the 12 year old daughter of Barry Kerr. Barry is the Manager at Mwabvi, working for the newly created Mwabvi Wildlife and Community Trust in conjunction with their UK partners the PAW Trust. His wife Adele and older daughter Courtney make up the family.

Kristen is looking for volunteers to help her look after Moran and his mate at Mwabvi. And also help with the conservation work and community programmes

Moran and Amayi will be used to promote wildlife and environmental education in local schools in conjunction with Wildlife and Environmental Society of Malawi (WESM) and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW).

You can visit them at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve, staying at Migudu campsite or our new self-contained lodge near the stunning Mwabvi Gorge. For details contact Barry Kerr on +265 (0) 884024925 or +265 (0) 1946173.
